Spalding is a rural market town in an area of Lincolnshire known as South Holland due to the flat nature of the landscape. The main industry of the area is generally thought to be agriculture but local authority statistics show it to be transport, required to move produce from the local food factories to the UK’s major supermarkets.
The population is mix of agricultural and factory workers with a higher than the national average number of retired people taking advantage of the low house prices in the area.
Saint Paul’s is a church which has two distinct congregations; one that meets at
9.15 am on a Sunday preferring a more traditional approach to worship with hymns
and common worship liturgy and the second which is more family orientated with modern

In both cases there is a firm belief in Jesus Christ as the one who can save us from the consequences of our sin and in a loving God who wants to restore us to a fantastic relationship with him. Our thankfulness and joy at experiencing this is expressed in different ways but there is no doubt that collectively we are passionate about our faith and are a group of people who love God.
There is a separate program on a Sunday morning for youngsters of junior school age. The teens meet on Thursday for fun, teaching and sometimes food but often go out to concerts and local events too. The latest was a weekend away at Greenbelt and Spring Harvest is another popular time away when a lot of the adults will go too.
